Women remain underrepresented both as electric vehicle drivers and within the EV industry workforce. ONEEV Group is taking action by launching its new Women EV Drivers Focus Group, Powered by Her. For Her, to ensure women’s real-life experiences help shape the future of electric mobility.
Despite making up over half of UK drivers, women are still less likely to drive electric vehicles and far less likely to work in technical or leadership roles across the EV sector. Many women say the industry does not always speak to their priorities around safety, confidence, accessibility and everyday practicality.
ONEEV’s new initiative is designed to listen to, learn from and represent the real lifestyles of women who already drive electric today. From balancing family life and work to enjoying independence and the freedom of the road, the Focus Group will provide a platform for honest conversations about what works, what does not, and what could be better.
Tim Moore, Co-Founder of ONEEV Group, said:
“Women get stuff done. They make EVs work in real life, not just in theory. We are proud to launch our Women EV Drivers Focus Group to listen, learn and represent the journeys that matter most.”
Research shows that many women feel excluded from EV marketing and industry conversations, which often focus on technical performance rather than real-world usability. Concerns around charging safety, cost clarity and confidence in new technology can also act as barriers to adoption.
ONEEV’s Focus Group will bring together women from different backgrounds, regions and stages of life to share their experiences of electric driving. Their feedback will help shape simpler, more confident charging experiences and improve how EV services support modern lifestyles.
Lyndon Gough, Co-Founder at ONEEV Group, said:
“The future of driving is not just about technology. It is about people, lifestyles and the journeys that matter most. Women’s voices are essential to making electric mobility truly inclusive.”
The initiative is also part of ONEEV’s wider commitment to celebrating women already making an impact across the EV sector. From engineers and consultants to sustainability leaders and business owners, women are driving progress across the industry, even if their stories are not always visible. By showcasing female voices and experiences, ONEEV aims to inspire more women to consider both EV ownership and careers in electric mobility.
Representation plays a powerful role in building confidence and encouraging participation. Women also influence many household purchasing decisions and workplace sustainability strategies. Ensuring EVs meet their needs is essential for long-term adoption and success.
Tim Moore added:
“When women feel confident about electric vehicles, the whole market grows. Their influence is powerful.” The Women EV Drivers Focus Group will continue to gather insight through discussions, interviews and shared stories. These real-world perspectives will help ONEEV and its partners improve accessibility, communication and confidence for women considering the switch to electric.
Powered by Her. For Her. By ONEEV.
If this initiative reflects your experience as an EV driver, ONEEV invites women to be part of the conversation and help shape the future of electric mobility.
