Founder Nic Lonsdale helps entrepreneurs build financial confidence.
Solihull-based Nic Lonsdale, founder of award-winning accountancy firm Ginger Bucks Ltd, has been confirmed as one of the expert speakers at a pioneering new networking retreat for businesswomen across the Midlands.
There, she will officially launch Baby Fawn MTD, a new support package designed to help sole traders and landlords navigate Making Tax Digital while building the financial confidence and habits needed to stay in control of their businesses.
The firm joins the line-up at the NetworkLocal Reset & Connect Retreat, a first-of-its-kind, wellness-first networking event taking place at Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield on 15 June 2026, from 10am to 4pm.
Hosted by Lichfield-based business community NetworkLocal, the retreat blends professional networking with holistic wellbeing to help female entrepreneurs reset, recharge and build genuine local partnerships, all for £49 per person.
On the day, Lonsdale will deliver a talk titled Building Financial Habits with Confidence, sharing practical advice on developing healthier financial routines, improving business visibility and reducing the stress that many founders experience around money management.
The event provides the ideal setting to introduce practical, jargon-free support at a time when many sole traders and small business owners are navigating one of the biggest changes to income tax reporting in years.
From 6 April 2026, sole traders and landlords with qualifying income of more than £50,000 from self-employment or property have been required to use Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. That means keeping digital records and sending quarterly updates to HMRC using compatible software, rather than relying on a single annual return.
The threshold is set to reduce to £30,000 from April 2027 and £20,000 from April 2028, bringing many more business owners into scope. As Xero and FreeAgent specialists, Ginger Bucks is well placed to make that transition feel manageable rather than daunting.
Baby Fawn MTD has been developed specifically to support business owners through the change, combining compliance support with practical guidance designed to help founders feel genuinely in control of their finances. The package includes software set-up and training, bookkeeping checks, five Making Tax Digital submissions, access to a dedicated WhatsApp support group and entry to the Ginger Bucks finance library. It is available for £189 + VAT per month or £1,499 + VAT as an upfront investment.
"Making Tax Digital is often presented as a compliance challenge, but I see it as an opportunity to build better financial habits and greater confidence," said Lonsdale. "When founders understand their numbers and have the right support around them, they stop worrying about getting things wrong and start making decisions with confidence. Baby Fawn MTD was designed to do exactly that. Yes, it helps people stay compliant, but more importantly it helps them feel genuinely in control of their finances. Launching it at an event dedicated to supporting and empowering businesswomen feels like the perfect fit."
Ginger Bucks provides tailored accountancy and advisory support to sole traders, limited companies, influencers and individuals across the UK. Known for its approachable, jargon-free style, the firm was recognised with an AAT Practice of the Year award, and founder Nic Lonsdale has been recognised among the Midlands' leading women in business for her work supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Tickets for the Reset & Connect Retreat are limited. Full details and booking are available via NetworkLocal.
