Chelmsford podcast studio puts businesses, founders and entrepreneurs in the spotlight with fresh approach
Founded by filmmaker Daniel De’Ath, Podlot Studios has been created around a simple idea: one great conversation can become far more than one piece of content. Rather than simply providing a room and recording equipment, Podlot combines filming, editing, production and content repurposing to help clients turn a single talk-show recording into a bank of marketing assets that can be used across social media, YouTube, websites and wider brand communications.
The studio’s offer includes professionally filmed and edited talk-show episodes, short-form reels, transcripts, audio assets and supporting content. Clients can also record dedicated marketing assets such as hooks, adverts, calls to action and episode introductions as part of the production process.
For Chelmsford, the launch adds another strand to the city’s growing creative and entrepreneurial landscape. With businesses increasingly expected to communicate through video, social content and personal brands, Podlot is designed to make professional content creation more accessible to local businesses without requiring them to build their own production set-up.
From filmmaker to creative entrepreneur
Podlot founder Daniel De’Ath brings a decade of experience in video production, storytelling and hands-on creative work to the new venture. His career began in filmmaking and video production in 2015, working as a videographer and editor.
Since 2024, De'Ath has also worked as an AI Video Engineer and supported AV for live events, paid advertising, podcasts and other content creation. That combination of technical production experience and commercial content knowledge has shaped Podlot’s approach.

I wanted to create a space where business owners could come in, sit down, have a genuinely good conversation and leave knowing they had created something they could actually use. There is so much pressure on founders to constantly create content, but the answer is not necessarily to create more. It is to make the content you are already creating work harder.

The distinction is central to Podlot’s proposition. The business deliberately uses the term talk show rather than simply podcast, reflecting its focus on creating structured, hosted and professionally produced content that can become part of a wider business strategy.
Chelmsford has an increasingly active creative and cultural scene, with new facilities and initiatives supporting local creative communities and businesses. In 2026, Chelmsford Theatre opened its new Coval Lane Studios to provide additional space for performing arts groups, while the city continues to develop its wider cultural and leisure offer.
Podlot Studios adds a different piece to that picture, focusing specifically on the rapidly growing world of business-led video, talk shows and content creation. For local entrepreneurs, that means the opportunity to create polished, professional content without having to travel into London or build an entire production operation themselves. It also creates opportunities for Chelmsford businesses to bring clients, collaborators, experts and interesting local voices into the studio and put their stories centre stage.

Podlot's studio features multiple setups and backdrops.
Chelmsford has so many ambitious businesses and interesting people with stories worth hearing. I want Podlot to become somewhere those conversations happen. There is a huge opportunity here. You don’t have to be a celebrity or have a massive following to create something compelling. If you know your subject, have something useful to say and can have a good conversation, we can help turn that into content that looks and feels professional. I’m really excited about what this could bring to the local business community and about creating a space where people can come together, collaborate and build something.
